i've run it at 2ft and i won't do it that low again. at 3ft in cooksburg it is great. last year we ran in late august. at 2.5ft that is the lowest i would run it to perserve you boat. This link will give you current river levels around our area in Pa. and recommended levels for canoeabilty.

    Hi Dog Lady
As you have observed the traffic on here has diminished significantly. There are plenty of class 1 rivers around the area. One of my favorites is The Allegeheny River near Warren, Pa. There is ample camping for RV's and tenters and island camping 4 kayak or canoe camping. The river is always possible thanks to Kinzua Dam, and the only rapids are light and easily passable by all skill levels. If you go on you will find a water trail guide and map for this river including launch areas plus many others. Another good one is The Clarion River from Ridgeway to Cooksburg. there are plenty of launch sites to make any lenght trip youmay prefer. There is also lots of places to camp and hike in nearby Cook's Forest state Park. you can also find books available that documents alot of area paddling.
