Thx Outdoors for the reply ,

Also thx for the offer of sending a cover message to members .

I'll work on the draft and send it to you in the next few days . I'm optomistic as to this being a quality web site for family oriented outdoor enthusiasts . In todays world family oportunities are needed more than ever . Your venture with your Dad should be evidence of that and I commend you for it .

I'll be back in touch ,

Why don't you guys put together a message that I can send to all the members of the site to try to get people involved. There weren't many messages being posted for a while there and I think people lost interest. I see that you guys have been posting much more lately and I think if we send an email out that people will come look and start posting again. The past year has been tough for me to do much with the site. I took on a internet gear store project with my dad and have been putting much of my time into that. I appreciate your guys help.

    Hi Marc ,

Thx for the message . I'm not sure as to go about re-building this group either . AllSails mentioned just plastering the bulletin board with items ranging from reporting your outings to doing a gear review on all of your equipment . His thought was to keep the posts and the conversasions flowing .

I think we should organize a meet and great and invite all past and dormant members . One idea I had was to meet at Beaver Creek State Park in Columbiana County and hike to Gretchens Lock and back . Have an organizational meeting and go from there .

There's a little bit of political movement at the park at present . The park ranger has notified some of the mountain bikers as to blazing some new single track mtn bike trails . That's a positive note . Plus , there has been 3 new canoe launchs built within the county this past year.

I know the park doesn't offer any on the trail camping . However, there is a group camp at the lower end of the park and a campground at the top of the hill above the main park . There are many avenues available for day hiking in the park with many taking you to remote areas not normally visited .

Taking part in these activities and spreading the word to other outdoor people should build a little interest. If you get 5 out of 50 contacts that are serious and active members , I think that would be successful .

Today we have backpacking , day hiking , mtn biking , canoe / kayaking , off roading , and sking . We should add , caving ( I've done some entry level caving ) , orienteering , geo caching and for the tuff guys , adventure racing .

Let's see what we can do .

    Hi Marc ,

    E-Mail me at

We should be able to re-build this site or create a spin off site to replace it. This area abounds with great outdoor oportunities.

    Hi Tom
I agree with you about trying to repromote the NOOR. I'm not exactly sure how to go about it. My First guess would be to try to get the current members to begin visiting the site. Maybe there is a way to get an email out to the members. I think it could be a great thing. Posting some group trips may be a good start. My family and I pretty much only kayak and Camp in Rv campgrounds. I did alot of Backpacking in the Boy Scouts but that was A long time ago.
