Trip Report:
Friday night we did the 3/4 mile hike to Pigeon Falls camp in the dark. On the way we heard something in the brush. We checked it out and we think it was a Badger. Once we got to camp we got everything set up and gathered wood for a fire. It was a good night and the sky was the clearest I have seen it over in this part of the country. You could actually see the milky way band. The next morning we woke up to the sound of rain starting to fall. We woke up and tried packing up everything before it started to fall hard but it was too late. After a while the rain stopped and we finished packing up. We hike back out to the car and drove up to the Minister Creek Area in the Allehgeny National Forest. We decied not to hike the usual way in that we had done many times before. We drove up Minister Creek Road and passed the North Country Trail. We found a pulloff not too far from the trail head. We decided to park there and hike to Triple Fork Camp from Minister Creek Road using the North Country Trail. It pretty much rained all day and it was hard to find wood. 2 hours before it got dark we decided to make a rock bridge accross the creek so we could get to the other side to look for wood. Once we were on the other side we found plenty of wood and threw it over the creek to the camp side. Even though it rained all day we were able to get a fire going thanks to the "camp buddy" that we had. It was a good night even though it was raining and we had a good time. What a great trip. :)
